Department of geology northwest university

Teacher Name

Born in August 1962 in Shanyang County, Shaanxi Province, native place: Shanyang, Shaanxi Province. He graduated from Northwest University in 1985, received his master's degree from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 1988 and his doctor's degree from London University in 1998.

He is mainly engaged in the study of mantle geochemistry of continental lithosphere. It has made important innovative contributions in the frontier scientific fields such as the exploration of basic theories and technical methods of mantle geochemistry. It is suggested that the peridotite melt interaction not only causes the fundamental change of the composition and properties of the lithospheric mantle, but also leads to the destruction of the North China Craton. The research methods of unconventional stable isotopes (li fe mg) in mantle geochemistry are developed, the properties and sources of melts in the process of mantle composition transition are revealed, and the research fields of mantle geochemistry are expanded. He has won the second prize of National Natural Science and the outstanding scientific and technological achievement award of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
