In the study of Cenozoic basalts in eastern China, the exploration of source rocks has been carried out. The source area has been identified successively as carbonated peridotite and pyroxenite in the sodium basalt, eclogite (ancient recycled sediment) in the potassium basalt, and the petrological evidence of the transformation of the lithospheric mantle in the process of melt rise has been found. At the same time, the Mg isotope was used to identify the source area composition of oceanic island basalt, and the genetic relationship between the EM1 component and the ancient recycled carbonate bearing sediments was found. </span>&nbsp;
