About Dong Yunpeng:
Born in October 1967, Professor of Northwest University, director of National Key Laboratory of continental dynamics; visiting professor of Western University, Canada. He is the academic leader of the innovation research group of NSFC, the winner of NSFC, the national candidate of "one million talents project", the young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from the state, and enjoys the special allowance from the government of the State Council.

He graduated from the Department of geology of Northwest University in 1991, and obtained master's degree and doctor's degree in structural geology of Northwest University in 1994 and 1997 respectively. From August 1997 to September 1999, he worked in the postdoctoral mobile station of Guangzhou Institute of geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and from May 2005 to November 2006, he worked in the Department of Geology and geography, Salzburg University, Austria. Visiting scholar of Salzburg University in Austria in 2009 and visiting scholar of Graz University in Austria in April June 2010. With Salzburg University of Austria, Graz University, Western University of Canada, Alabama University of the United States, Freiberg University of technology of Germany, Azad University of Iran, kigam, soul University, Tanta University of Egypt, etc., we have carried out extensive international cooperation research and joint cultivation of doctoral students.
Mainly engaged in geotectonics, orogenic belt structure and continental dynamics. In recent years, he aimed at the international geoscience hot issues of continental dynamics, took Qinling, Kunlun and Tianshan orogenic belts as the research bases, carried out joint research on structural geology, geochemistry and isotopic chronology, and compared them with typical orogenic belts abroad, in terms of the relationship among Qinling orogenic belt, Qilian orogenic belt and Kunlun orogenic belt; the transformation of paleoasia and paleoTethys tectonic domain A series of important achievements have been made in the structural pattern, evolution process and dynamics of the Central Orogenic Belt and their role in the formation of the Chinese mainland. Especially taking the fine orogenic process of the Qinling orogenic belt as a breakthrough, the two-stage subduction orogenic model and fine evolution process of the Qinling orogenic belt in the Paleozoic have been established. Based on the comparative study of the Tianshan orogenic belt and the Alps orogenic belt, this paper discusses the time-space relationship between the paleo Asian structural domain and the proto Paleo Tethys domain, and compares the different rules of subduction, collision and accretion orogeny. Remarkable achievements have been made in the material composition, structural structure, evolution process and dynamics of the continental orogenic belt. He has successively been responsible for one major project of NSFC, one outstanding youth fund and five general projects; he has presided over or undertaken more than 20 other scientific research projects, including Earth Science Reviews, tectonophyics, Precambrian research, lithium, Gondwana research and Journal of science
More than 180 academic papers have been published in Asian Earth Sciences and other journals. The first and second prizes of science and technology in Shaanxi Province, the first prize of science and technology in Shaanxi Province, the first prize of science and technology in Shaanxi Provincial Department of education, the Silver Hammer prize of young geological science and technology award of Chinese Geological Society, the model of teachers' morality in Shaanxi Province, and the Excellent Communist Party members in Shaanxi Province were won by the first-time finisher.
