Recently, the Science and Technology Exchange Center of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology hosted a China (Shaanxi) - United States Energy Theme Exchange Conference. Dr. Zhao Yanshu, Vice Chairman of the International China Environment Foundation and Chief Representative of China, was invited by the Science and Technology Exchange Center to exchange views on geothermal energy issues. Dr. Ren Zhanli, Director of the Institute of Oil and Gas Basins at Northwestern University and a research fellow in our department, was also invited to visit the conference. Feng Juanxia, Deputy Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Exchange Center, presided over the exchange meeting. Firstly, Dr. Zhao Yanshu, Chief Representative of the International China Environment Foundation in China, gave a keynote speech on the development of AI, electricity demand, and geothermal energy solutions in the United States. Dr. Zhao introduced US energy policies, the coupling technology of fifth generation single well cycle geothermal energy generation and carbon dioxide storage, AI receipt center energy solutions, and future development trends. Researcher Ren Zhanli gave a keynote speech on the new progress of geothermal resource development in the Weihe Basin of Shaanxi Province, detailing the geothermal geology and resource characteristics of the Weihe Basin, the progress of geothermal exploration and development technology, the current status and development trends of geothermal resource development and utilization. Both parties and attending representatives had in-depth exchanges and discussions on relevant issues. The Innovation System and Policy Regulations Department, External Cooperation and Exchange Department, and other departments of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology participated in the exchange meeting. Representatives from Shaanxi Venture Capital Association, Shaanxi International Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Center, China SCO Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center Xi'an Center, Xi'an University of Petroleum, Xi'an Meinan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Xi'an Qingsen Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. and other relevant units participated in and conducted cooperative exchanges. This exchange activity will help promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in the fields of energy and environmental protection.
