Wang Jiading graduated from the Department of Applied Geophysics at Chang'an University in July 1983 with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. From September 1983 to July 1986, he pursued a Master's degree in Earthquake Engineering at the Lanzhou Earthquake Research Institute of the National Seismological Bureau and obtained a Master's degree in Engineering. He later stayed at the institute to engage in scientific research work. I was transferred to Northwest University in August 1994 and have been working there ever since. Among them, from September 1996 to June 1999, he pursued a doctoral degree in Geological Engineering at Chengdu University of Technology and obtained a PhD in Engineering. I conducted research at the Geological Engineering Postdoctoral Station of Jilin University from May 1999 to April 2001. I have gone abroad for further studies and high-level visits. Promoted to professor in 1999 and awarded as doctoral supervisor in 2001. In 2014, he was awarded the title of Second Class Professor by Shaanxi Province. Over the past 30 years, research on loess landslides has been hailed as a "self-contained system with unique features". For the first time, the mechanism of loess creep, sliding liquefaction induced by irrigation and the mechanism of soil disintegration, oblique throwing, and dust generation induced by earthquakes were proposed, and the motion characteristic equations of various types of loess landslides were derived. The achievements have won 6 provincial science and technology progress awards in Gansu and Shaanxi. I have visited impoverished mountainous areas in Gansu and Shaanxi multiple times for landslide emergency relief, participated in landslide forecasting with my proposed theory, and won the Shaanxi Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 1998. In the preface of many monographs, Mr. Zhang Zonghu, academician of the CAS Member and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Zhang Guowei, Cui Peng and Peng Jianbing, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, wrote that "This book is the first monograph on the research of loess landslide system in China, and there are many innovations." The research on the vibration subsidence and liquefaction of yellow soil subgrade of high-speed railway proposed the critical criteria, mechanism, influencing factors and foundation treatment measures to eliminate the two disasters caused by train vibration. It was directly applied to high-speed railway, and won two first prizes of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Award, and four first and second prizes of the Ministry of Railways Science and Technology Award. The research on lateral displacement, subgrade settlement and filler ratio put forward unique opinions, and the results were applied to the construction of the heavy haul railway in central and southern Shanxi, and won the international award - FIDIC award. In the research on the settlement of loess foundation and the stability of high slopes in airport runways, the long-term vibration settlement mechanism of loess foundation under earthquake action and aircraft takeoff and landing impact vibration, as well as the instability and failure mechanism of loess high slopes and treatment measures were proposed, which won the first prize of Shaanxi Provincial Technical Invention Award and the second prize of China Civil Aviation Science and Technology Award. In recent years, the five promotion effects of "promoting cracking, promoting infiltration, promoting collapse, promoting sliding, and promoting settlement" of loess under the coupling effects of locomotive vibration, water, and wet dry cycles have been proposed and applied in more than ten major railway projects, winning the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. Invented intelligent monitoring technology for "small deformation, large risk" of special rock and soil masses and derived the formula for "dynamic permeability coefficient" unearthed, winning the first prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He has made positive contributions to the theory and application of fuzzy information optimization processing. He has collaborated with Professor Huang Chongfu to publish two monographs, "Fuzzy Information Analysis and Application" and "Fuzzy Information Optimization Processing Technology and Its Application", which have been reprinted several times and accumulated more than 25000 volumes. The principles of information distribution and information diffusion proposed have been widely cited by scholars at home and abroad. Up to now, more than 280 papers have been published, including over 80 SCI papers, and 19 national invention patents have been authorized (including foreign ones). Hosted and completed over 50 national, provincial, and ministerial level major projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Major Instrument Special Project, Key Project, General Project, National Key R&D Program, Ministry of Railways, and Civil Aviation of China.
