On September 8, 2024, the 7th National College Student Geological Skills Competition came to an end at China University of Petroleum (East China) in Qingdao, Shandong Province. After three days of intense competition, three representative teams consisting of 10 undergraduate students from our department's top majors such as resource exploration engineering and geology, won three individual special awards, four first prizes, and one second prize respectively, thanks to their good competitive state and excellent competitive level. They represented Northwestern University and won the first prize of the skills competition team award. Among them, the number of individual special prize winners exceeded 3 for the first time, achieving a historic breakthrough in the number of individual special prize winners for the school in this competition
