Professor and doctoral supervisor at Edith Cowan University. In recent years, research directions have mainly included rock mechanics, CT scanning imaging, ultrasound measurement under confining pressure, seismic imaging, and carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS). I graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from the Moscow State Institute of Physics and Technology in Russia. I have been teaching at Curtin University for 16 years, established a rock physics laboratory, and served as the laboratory director.
