1 On the 16th of the month, the Department of Geology held a grand commendation conference and academic exchange activity for the year 2025 at the Bosheng Lecture Hall. The activity system summarizes the achievements made in teaching and research, talent cultivation, and team building over the past year, recognizes advanced collectives and individuals, and consolidates consensus and stimulates innovation vitality through academic exchanges. The event is divided into three parts: commendation conference, tribute to retired teachers, and academic exchange.

At the commendation conference, Chen Feng, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the department, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Party Committee to all teachers, students, and staff for their hard work over the past year. He pointed out that in the past year, the Department of Geology has closely followed the national strategic needs and the forefront of disciplinary development, continuously promoted organized scientific research and the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, and made positive progress in the output of high-level scientific research achievements, the improvement of talent training quality, the construction of teaching staff and management service efficiency. The achievement of relevant results cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of various party branches, teaching and research teams, and all faculty and staff, nor can it be achieved without the hard work and striving of the majority of students. Chen Feng emphasized that we should take the recognition of advanced individuals as an opportunity to further create a strong atmosphere of learning from the best and catching up with others, and gather powerful forces to promote the high-quality development of disciplines.
The conference will commend teams and individuals who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions in teaching, scientific research, management services, and other work. The atmosphere on site was solemn and lively, fully demonstrating the spirit of the geology department to overcome difficulties and forge ahead. After the commendation session, the conference specially set up a ceremony titled 'Young Teachers Salute to Retired Teachers'. The representatives of young teachers presented flowers to retired teachers, and the whole audience warmly applauded to express their respect and gratitude, reflecting the excellent tradition of respecting teachers, valuing education, and passing on the torch in the Department of Geology, and demonstrating the common value pursuit of "inheriting the spirit of geology and continuing to strive forward".
