On the morning of September 15th, the Department of Geology held a mid-term inspection meeting for the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Science Fund Project (Class C) in the conference room on the fifth floor of the Geological Building. The meeting was chaired by department head Long Xiaoping and attended by Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department Zhao Xinzheng.

This inspection meeting invited five experts, Chen Lihui, Fifth Chunrong, Huang Lei, Cheng Xin, and Yang Zhao, to serve as judges. The six young teachers who were approved for the Youth Fund in 2024 reported on the progress of the project one by one. The review experts provided comments on the implementation of each project and provided guidance on the existing problems. Director Long Xiaoping emphasized in the summary that each project should strictly follow the content of the application to promote research and ensure that fund execution is consistent with the application content; At the same time, it is necessary to strictly abide by the regulations on fund management and use research funds in a standardized and reasonable manner. He hopes that young teachers will take this mid-term inspection as an opportunity to seriously absorb expert opinions, solidly promote subsequent research, and strive to produce more high-level results.
