On September 29th, 2026, the "Dianzan Kopu Xi'an" launch event was held at the Xi'an Youth Activity Center. The event, themed "Praising the Power of Science Popularization and Enlightening Science Popularization in Xi'an", released a list of representatives for the annual science popularization figures, works, activities, and platforms. The Department of Geology was awarded the title of Outstanding Science Popularization Site of the Year. In recent years, based on the characteristics of our disciplines, our department has continuously promoted the construction of science popularization bases. As a multi-level science popularization base at the provincial and municipal levels, we regularly hold various science popularization activities, such as the Provincial Primary and Secondary School Earth Science Popularization Creation Competition, the Northwest Region National Middle School Earth Science Competition, and the Science Popularization Vanguard Team Entering Primary Schools. The coverage of popular science audiences continues to expand, playing a positive role in enhancing public scientific literacy and disseminating knowledge of earth sciences.

Being awarded the annual excellent science popularization position is a recognition and motivation for our department's science popularization work. Next, our department will continue to leverage its disciplinary advantages, continuously enrich science popularization content, innovate science popularization forms, broaden science popularization channels, solidly carry out science popularization battlefield construction and service work, and contribute to improving the scientific literacy of the whole nation.
