Chen Lihui

Professional:Professor

Department:Petrology & Mineralogy Teaching and Research Office

Direction:Taking global intraplate volcanic rocks as the main research object, by analyzing the "genes" - isotopic composition and elemental characteristics of volcanic rocks, we aim to decipher the genesis of igneous rocks and volcanoes, trace the material composition and evolution of deep Earth, and explore two fundamental scientific issues: how the Earth operates internally and the operational mechanisms of livable Earth.

Personal Introduction

Chen Lihui,From Jiande, Zhejiang Distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor. I major in geology and mainly engage in research in the fields of igneous rock petrology and mantle geochemistry

Academic part-time: International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Scientific Evaluation Expert Group (SEPMembers (term),, Senior Researcher of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Comparative Planetary Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,Member of Volcano Professional Committee of China Disaster Prevention Association,Chemical GeologyEditorial board member of academic journals such as Geotectonics and MetallogenesisJournal of Rocks, Oceanographic Research, Part time professor at Nanjing University, etc.

Academic Resume: From 1991 to 2001, he successively studied at the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (Bachelor of Geology), the Graduate Department of the Chinese Academy of Geosciences (Master of Mineralogy), and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Doctor of Petrology)

Teaching materials: Lectures on undergraduate courses "Magmatic Petrology" and "Comparative Planetarism and Earth Systems", master's courses "Advances in Earth Science", and doctoral courses "Frontiers and Advances in Geochemistry". Collaborating on the development of a textbook titled Igneous Rock Petrology

Talent Training: Doctoral Training6, teaching at universities such as Nanjing University, Tongji University, Ocean University of China, and Northwest University.. The first name of a doctoral student is font family: regular script; font size: 16px. I have obtained a Master's degree and have worked for institutions such as Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Geological Survey, TP Link, and Huawei. Master's student's name is6

Academic Awards: Received2016First Prize of Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Award (ranked2, the winning project is "Research on mantle characteristics and shell mantle interactions in southeastern China. Received the title of Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor at Nanjing University in 2018

Fund Project: Hosted one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, "Understanding the Properties of Deep Mantle Chemical Reservoirs from the Perspective of Continental Volcanic Rocks" (2022-2026).Completed National Natural Science Foundation project5LouisvilleOrigin and source characteristics of basalts from seamounts" and "Origin of high magnesium andesites from the Northeast Cenozoic era"

Academic Achievements: In the first author or corresponding author's paper, includingPNAS (1),Nature Geoscience (1)< Span style="font family: regular script; font size: 16px;">Nature Communications (1)Earth and Planetary Science Letters (5)Journal of Geophysical Research (4) andGeophysical Research Letters (1)In recent years, the main focus has been on petrological and geochemical research on the source areas and processes of intra plate volcanic rocks.. By tracing the elemental composition of rocks, radiogenic isotopes (such as Sr, Nd, Pb, Hf), and stable isotopes (such as Mg, Fe, Zn), the material composition of the deep Earth's mantle (lower mantle and mantle transition zone) can be traced to understand the material cycling process between the Earth's interior and surface. The current H-index is 26

Welcome outstanding young students (postdoctoral, doctoral, master's, undergraduate) to join the "Manyou" research groupRocking Mantle Group
