Rao Xin, Associate Researcher at the Department of Geology, Northwest University, has been selected as a "Young Talent in Shaanxi Province's High level Talent Plan". Bachelor of Resource Exploration Engineering (2009) of China University of Mining and Technology (Xuzhou), Master of Paleontology and Stratigraphy (2012) and Doctor of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2015). The main research area is the evolution of Mesozoic marine and terrestrial ecosystems and their environmental responses, with a particular focus on the systematic evolution of Mesozoic bivalves and associated taxa. Representative achievements were published in GSA Bulletin，Science China Earth Sciences, Papers in Palaeontology，Journal of Asian Earth Sciences Wait.
