brief introduction

Since its establishment in 1995, the Early Life and Environment Innovation Team of Northwestern University has taken the advanced level of international similar disciplines as the reference, the world's leading level as the direction of efforts, and the core tasks of carrying out high-level original research, cultivating high-level innovative talents, and disseminating science and culture, with the support of the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education, the Key Scientific and Technological Innovation Team of Shaanxi Province, and the National Natural Science Foundation Innovation Research Group Project, It has achieved remarkable research results and has formed an innovative research team with interdisciplinary talents and important international influence. It was selected as an innovation team in key fields by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2018. The team has published 14 papers of the first author in Nature and Science, and Nature and Science have published several special review articles, affirming the important contribution of these achievements. The series of achievements were twice selected as the "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in China" and twice as the Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in Chinese Universities. The Chengjiang Biota and Cambrian Explosion Project and the Earth Animal Tree Forming Project won the first prize and the second prize of the the State Natural Science Award respectively.
